Week of June 22nd Wrap Up and Sunday Sneak Peek

Sometimes I love a rainy weekend. The past few weekends have been nothing short of AMAZING, which means I spent most of my time outside. Which also means the inside of my house and shop have been declared disaster zones!

Lamp Posted
Rain had been forecast all week for the weekend and I was looking forward to it. The meteorologists and mother nature didn’t disappoint. The rain forced me inside, so I was able to pick up and organize the shop. It desperately needed some TLC after finishing up the lamp I designed for Cutting Edge Stencils. Did you see the lamp plans and stenciling tutorial I posted earlier this week? Check ’em out. I’m really pleased with the way it turned out.

Safety First
I also posted some shop safety tips this week. Please take a look and PLEASE be safe every time you’re working in the shop.

Shop Talk
Speaking of the shop, I just started an online class from Popular Woodworking called “Super Small Shop Strategies”. Did you know Popular Woodworking offered classes? I didn’t until I saw an email in my inbox titled “Super Small Shop Strategies” class and I thought this sounds perfect for me (considering all my tools are on wheels to save space!). The cost was only $49.99. I hope to finish up the class this week. I’ll let you know how it goes. Have you ever taken an online woodworking class?

I’m Featured Y’all!
I almost forgot to tell you… Kreg featured my Outdoor Beverage Table with a Surprise on the Kreg Community site! I’m absolutely thrilled that they featured my work. I love the Kreg Jig. I first saw it in use several years ago at a woodworking show in Springfield, MA. I had just finished taking a furniture class where I learned to hand cut mortise and tenon joints. I was fascinated with how quickly and easily furniture could be made with the jig. So, yes, I know how to hand cut a mortise and tenon joint, but I’ll probably never do it again now that I have my Kreg jig!

Sunday Sneak Peek
All of my followers got a real sneak peek earlier this week. I was working on an upcoming post for a project and accidentally hit “publish” instead of “save draft”. Oh well, I’ll be publishing it soon minus the spelling and grammatical errors 😉

Here’s the real Sunday Sneak peek. It’s a little backyard problem solver I’ve been working on. It looks like a birdhouse, but birds won’t be using it. Any idea what it is? Notice the hole on the bottom. Any guesses what that could be used for? Post your guesses in the comments.

Have a great week. Also have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July!
