Measure Twice, GIVEAWAY, How to Video and Sunday Sneak Peek

Hey there! How was your week? Can you believe this was the last full weekend of October? It’s time to start thinking about buttoning down for the winter. That’s what I focused on this weekend… building a new storm window for the bathroom window I restored a few weeks ago.

I had drawn a storm window plan in SketchUp just after I finished installing the window. Then I took some time off from the window project. When I printed the plan to start cutting my pieces, I thought, should I check the measurements first? Nah, why would I have drawn it in Sketchup if I didn’t have the correct dimensions? Lesson learned AGAIN – measure twice, cut once! I should have measured, because guess what? It didn’t fit! Needless to say I didn’t finish the storm window this weekend.

This past week Joan followed the How to: Make a Dog Gate plans to make her own dog gate. I’d love to see a pic of Joan’s project and any of your projects! You can send pics to me at [email protected].

How to Video and Sunday Sneak Peek
I’m excited to announce my first “how to” video is DONE! I’m a whiz in the workshop, but for the most part I’m tech challenged, so this was quite the feat for me. I mean, I’m not gonna win a daytime Emmy or anything, but I think it’s respectable for my first video. I learned a lot and I’m already thinking of improvements I would make for the next one. The video is a companion for my most popular project, How to: Make No Miter Cut Picture Frame. I’ll be hosting a viewing party this week, well not really, but I’ll be releasing the video early this week. Keep an eye on your inbox for the link to the video!
