Many of the items mentioned on the list can be found at Amazon, Lowe’s or Home Depot, but I should tell you, there are no affiliate links in this post. If anyone from Amazon, Lowe’s, Home Depot, DeWALT, Kreg, RYOBI, etc is reading this, have your people talk to my people 😉

I’ve separated the gift list into two parts. Part I are DIY Furniture Builders “essentials”. These items are “needs” like safety items and items that will easily allow someone to get up and building. Part II are DIY Furniture Builders “wants”. These items will take your furniture building to the next level.

DIY Furniture Builders Ultimate Gift Guide – Part I

Eye Protection
I don’t pick up a tool without first putting on a pair of safety glasses and you shouldn’t either.

Hearing Protection
Just like safety glasses, I don’t start a power tool without hearing protection.

Dust Masks
Equally important as eye protection and hearing protection is protecting yourself against inhaling sawdust with a dust mask.

Tape Measure
If you’re going to make any project, you’ll definitely need a tape measure!

Kreg Jig
If you want to build furniture without cutting mortise and tenon joints, then you NEED a Kreg Jig. Pocket hole joinery changed my life. With the Kreg Jig furniture building has become quick, easy and the finished product looks nothing less than professional. LOVE IT!

Kreg Screws
Pocket hole screws are specifically designed to work with pocket holes. Substituting any other screw will yield in an undesirable joint. Don’t skimp on your screws! If you’re buying a Kreg Jig as a gift, pocket screws are a must and this assortment is the perfect place to start. LOVE IT!

Cordless Drill
The Kreg Jig is difficult to use without a drill and nothing beats the convenience of a cordless drill. This DEWALT Drill features an easy to operate keyless chuck. LOVE IT!

Clamps
Ask any DIYer and everyone of them will tell you the same thing. You can NEVER have too many clamps. I have plans to devote an entire post to clamps, but until then, I recommend investing in decent clamps. It’s a good idea to have a mix of spring clamps, “C” clamps and bar clamps in various sizes. These Bessey clamps will last a lifetime. LOVE IT!

Miter Saw
A power miter saw is a great upgrade to a miter box.
