DIY Dog Treats Fire Hydrant Container

We’ll kick off our list of DIY gift ideas with a present for your furry friend. It’s a DIY dog treats container shaped like a fire hydrant. It’s hard to believe this project was made entirely with scrap wood, but the parts are small, so it doesn’t require much wood. To make this an even greater gift, fill the container with some homemade dog treats and wrap in cellophane. Or include this in a gift basket with other dog necessities like food/water bowls, brush and organic shampoo (just started using this shampoo for my pooch Coco and it makes her hair soooo soft!) for a new pup parent.

Rustic Modern Tablet Holder

It seems like everyone has a tablet, so who wouldn’t love a handmade holder for their tablet? This tablet holder goes together lightening fast which means it’s perfect as a last minute gift. It’s also the perfect size for a stocking stuffer. It can be left raw, painted or stained. People love these, so I recommend making a handful.

What do you do with the scrap molding after you install chair rail, etc.? Make scrap wood candle holders of course! Scrap molding is what gives these candle holders their unique shape. These were finished with a solid paint color, but a metallic paint would also be a cool choice. To complete the gift, top them with some flameless candles. Who knew you could decorate your home with scrap wood?!
