More Printable Plans, Knock Off Decor and My Favorite Things Gift Idea
Hey friends – Happy Tues-DIY! If you celebrate Christmas, I hope you have all of your gifts, they are all wrapped and you can relax for a few days. Oh no… you don’t have all of your gifts? No worries, later on I’ll be sharing an easy, last minute gift idea with you!
Dog Gate Printable Plan
Last week when a follower requested printable plans for the Knockoff Plow & Hearth Stool, I jumped into action. It took a few days, but I put together a PDF of the stool plan. Printer friendly versions of the project plans is a great idea, so this weekend I put together another printable plan. This one is for the DIY Dog Gate. A Few of My Favorite Things – Last Minute Gift Idea
Over the past few weeks I shared Part I and Part II of my DIY Furniture Builders Gift Guide and 6 Easy to Make DIY Gifts. Today’s idea is a perfect last minute, inexpensive gift for friends, neighbors or coworkers. I came up with this idea a few years ago, gave it to my coworkers and it was big hit! Just like the song, below are “a few of my favorite things”. These are my favorite things, but your gift should include your favorite things.
Don’t forget to pin this idea to your Pinterest Gift Giving board!
First, you’ll need a box. I used a photo storage box like this one from Michael’s. Not only will the box be used to as a receptacle for the gifts, but the recipient can use the box for photo storage, etc. You might also be able to find a box like this at a dollar store.
Inside the box I included 5 of my favorite things…
First, a votive of my favorite Yankee Candle scent, “Kitchen Spice”.
Second, a few homemade chocolate chip cookies wrapped in cellophane, made with my favorite Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe.
Third, a container of my favorite spice, 21 Seasoning Salute from Trader Joe’s.
Fourth, while at Trader Joe’s I also picked up my favorite coffee, “Bay Blend”. I poured some in a Ball Quilted Jelly Jar, which is just enough to make a full pot of coffee.
Fifth, one of these easy-to-make Mason Jar Christmas Tree Snow Globes by Makely School for Girls. You can put these together while the cookies are baking 🙂
Each item was tucked in the box with some tissue paper. Then using my computer I printed a note in a script font that said “These are a few of my favorite things”. It was inexpensive and easy to put together, but it looked classy and like I invested a lot of time. The perfect idea for a busy holiday season.
What are your favorite things that you would include in a “favorite things” box?
