Sometimes a project doesn’t need a big story, it just needs to be useful. And let’s face it, bathrooms almost always need more storage. A cabinet over the toilet is a simple way to keep toiletries, towels, and extra supplies organized without losing floor space.
NOTE: I designed this cabinet in SketchUp to lay out the dimensions and construction details, then used AI to create a “finished” image so you can see what the project could look like once built.
A Few Build Notes Before You Start
I pictured the side panels and door panels recessed into rabbets, but you could also make them true floating panels. I kept them flat for simplicity, although beadboard would add some extra texture.
The back stretchers are set in so the back sits recessed and stays hidden from the sides.
I left the cove molding off the cut list since it’s optional.
While I designed this with pocket hole construction in mind, you can use any joinery method you like.
